Repent

A lot of bad things have been happening in the world. I’ve been as horrified as anyone (though not particularly surprised) by Hamas’ murder, rape, and torture of women and children. Then there is the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the increasing polarity in U. S. politics.

Many people are wondering what we can do to alleviate these problems, and how we can be safer ourselves. I don’t have answers for those questions. What I do know if that if we repent and turn to our Savior, whatever may happen in the short term it will be well with us in the long term. If enough of us do it, some of those issues may disappear on their own. In the end, He has the power to heal all wounds and wipe away all tears, and the only thing that can stop him from doing that is his respect for our agency.

Catalog

I just checked the mail, and there was a “holiday” catalog from Amazon, full of toys and such. Both Julia and I immediately said, “It’s just like the Sears catalog from when we were kids!” I wonder if some old person at Amazon was feeling nostalgic and decided to try rebooting the idea.
